French Broad Rifle Club member David Miller was honored on September 16th, 2016 at the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Associations Fall Nationals. Recently elected NMLRA President Joe Hill congratulates Mr Miller and presents him with a very fine double barrel that David had been eyeing for some time. Mr Miller has been the Chief Range Officer of the NMLRA for the last three years. The Chief Range Officer oversees all the ranges at Friendship which include the Rifle, Offhand, Pistol, Primitive, Trap, Skeet, Quail Walk, and Youth ranges. Each range also has a head range officer specific to that line. Mr Miller was the head of the rifle line, the largest single line at Friendship, for the seven years prior to becoming Chief RO. Before this he served countless years as an RO walking the line each relay to make sure everyone was observing the safety rules, calling the range commands on the PA system, and helping shooters that had dry balled their rifle. Mr Miller voluntarily stepped down from the Chief RO position to make room for others within the NMLRA to give them a chance to move up and be promoted. The event was well attended and Mr Miller received several standing ovations.
